Kamonyi District managed to collect more taxes than it had expected to collect in 2008. There is some research being conducted to assess all tax payers and all taxable goods in the district.

It was discovered in Kamonyi District that there was an increase in tax collection, this was achieved especially because of the trust people have in Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) and the district in general. There was an increase in sensitizing the population especially on the advantages of paying taxes.

The district of Kamonyi believes that taxes are very important to the district and the country as a whole because it helps in fostering the economy and it helps the district to be able to provide the essential things to its population.
