Trade
Kamonyi District trade is mostly practiced through shops, small bars, restaurants, and some other two small hotels. There are 25 markets amongst which three are the only ones that are well constructed the rest are still operating from places that are roofed in such a way that traders have to endure the rain and the sun that bothers them a lot and spoils their merchandise. There are even credit lending institutions and saving cooperatives that help people to access financial help.
The district indulges in trade with the other districts that it borders with especially in agricultural products. The district built and rehabilitated some markets and this helped greatly in improving trade within the district. Trade in the district is improving as more people participate in it.
There is need for well constructed markets so that traders can practice their trade better and trade would be generally improved in the district. The district is encouraging investors to invest in trade because there are profits especially in agriculture.
