Kamonyi District has been very instrumental in the immunization program whereby many children were immunized against prevalent diseases that usually infect them and the district is doing its best to see that the problem of malnutrition is eliminated. There is also a program to help pregnant women to alwas give birth from a health facility.

The District of Kamonyi has been encouranging people to volutarily test for HIV/AIDS. There is a program to fight malaria and other infectious diseases that affect the population, currently up to 86% of the population sleep in treated mosquito nets. There is also a national indoor spraying program that is beeing conducted throughout the country and this will help greatly to this fight.

The population of Kamonyi district are being sensitised to register for the health insurance scheme, to practice family planning, to give birth from a health facility, to improve domestic cleanliness, to drink clean water. The district also has plans to increase the capacity of hospitals, health centers, and pharmacies by increasing the number of doctors, nurses, beds and all the other necessary things.
