The Minister in the Presidency in charge of ICT, Dr. Ignace Gatare, declared that the Information and Communication Technology is a tool to achieve sustainable development of the country. At the official launching of ICT awareness campaign held on February 2nd, 2012 in Kamonyi District, the Minister Gatare said the campaign aims to raise the citizen’s understanding so that they become accustomed to the new Information technologies in their daily activities.

As part of extolling the bravery of National Heroes, Kamonyi District has joined the rest of the country on February, 1st, 2012, to recognize the benefits of heroes, who were passionate of the National wellbeing.

Mrs. Claudine Uwineza, the Vice Mayor in Charge of Economic affairs of Kamonyi District, avows that drugs are very harmful to people’s life. The assessment was made in Rwabinagu Center located in Bibungo Cell of Nyamiyaga Sector on the evening of 25th January 2012, during the official launching of the campaign against drugs in Youth and the entire Rwandan society in general.
The Vice Mayor brought to minds that drugs block both social and economic development of the country, and furthermore uproot the well being. She reiterated that citizens who don’t conform to the law are dangerous to the society.

After Umurenge SACCO of Nyarubaka Sector, the members of the Cooperative Umurenge SACCO of Karama Sector termed to the construction of new outlet which cost nearly 16 million Rwandan francs. The inauguration of this building was held on December 29th, 2011 by the Governor of Southern Province, the ceremony that also brought together both civil authorities and security services.

 - Hon Minister Rwangombwa inaugurate SADUNYA's building
The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning has summoned up people who have requested credits from financial institutions to willingly repay on time and never wait to be reminded. This was stated by the Minister John Rwangombwa on Monday October 31, 2011 in Kamonyi District, at the official opening of the SADUNYA new building, the famous Umurenge SACCO located in NYARUBAKA Sector.
The SADUNYA outlet (SACCO DUSIZE UBUKENE NYARUBAKA) is one of twelve Cooperatives of Credit and Saving open in Kamonyi District, and the new building was constructed to the support of community work “Umuganda”.
